JO: (warily) What?
CYNTHIA: I want to go back there -
JO: Woh, wait a minute -
CYNTHIA: Just one last time. Will you stay with me and
help me?
JO: I don't know if it's a very good idea.
CYNTHIA: I just want to see him one last time, tell him not
to worry, that I'm okay, that I made it - he
really cared.
JO: But that part of your life's behind you now. I
think it's better just to cherish the memory of
things like that. Things never work out when you
try and relive the past.
CYNTHIA: But it's just like visiting an old friend.
JO: I still don't like it. (pause) What makes you
think you'll be able to get back there anyway.
CYNTHIA: I don't know, but I want to try. He gave me so
much...(pause) Will you help me?
JO: (sighs resignedly) Oh, okay.
CYNTHIA: (smiles) Thanks.
JO: What do you want me to do?
CYNTHIA: Just help me relax and get there and stay close to
me, just in case I need help coming back.
JO: (suddenly worried) How will I know?
CYNTHIA: I'm not sure, but I'm sure you'll know if it
happens. Give me, say, fifteen minutes there.
(CYNTHIA gets onto her bed and lies on her back,
getting comfortably relaxed.)
JO: I'm really not sure about this...
CYNTHIA: (eyes shut and beginning to focus inwards) Stop
worrying. I'm trying to go there now...
