CYNTHIA: Why don't you let her decide?
MOTHER: Because I'm her mother.
CYNTHIA: You're my mother too.
MOTHER: Not anymore.
BECKY: Don't leave me alone, Cyn.
MOTHER: You won't be alone, honey, I'm still here.
BECKY: I don't want her to go, Mum.
CYNTHIA: Becky, tell her you want to come with me.
BECKY: I don't want anyone to go anywhere.
CYNTHIA: I'm not leaving if Becky's staying.
(The MOTHER is still holding tightly onto BECKY)
BECKY: You're hurting me.
MOTHER: (releasing her grip on BECKY, to CYNTHIA) Get out
of my sight. Go to your room and stay there.
(CYNTHIA exits, there is a pause and BECKY looks
at her MOTHER and then after CYNTHIA and exits
after her sister. The MOTHER is alone as lights
fade to blackout.)
SCENE 2:
CYNTHIA and BECKY are in their bedroom. The have the lamp on
and are barricading the door as BECKY did before. They are in
their pyjamas.
CYNTHIA: There we are. He won't get in here tonight.
BECKY: You're not going to go, are you, Cyn?
CYNTHIA: If I do I promise I'll take you with me.
BECKY: Really?
CYNTHIA: Really.
(They give each other a hug.)
CYNTHIA: Let's try and get some sleep. I'm exhausted.
(BECKY climbs into bed and CYNTHIA turns the lamp
off, leaving the room in near darkness before climbing into
bed also.
The dim light fades to blackout.)
